Grayling Restocking

September 10, 2006
On Thursday 7th September approximately 500 young Grayling from the Environment Agency’s fish farm at Calverton were released into the Club’s waters by the Neil Sampson of the Environment Agency. We put in a request two years ago but an outbreak of disease at Calverton resulted in the culling of all their stock, disinfecting and starting again from scratch. A lot of work has been put in by the people at Calverton and the results of their labour has resulted in these strong healthy young fish which though stressed by their journey were fully recovered within an hour of being released into the Mimram. Our thanks must go to Jim Seymour our Environment Agency Catchment Officer for securing this allocation for the Mimram.
